Dear StockTock Community,

I wanted to inform everyone about some changes in my career and its affect on StockTock. Starting tomorrow, I will begin working on a trading related business venture that will take my time away from the Intraday Commentary and Daily Videos. I want to be clear that StockTock will continue to be a go-to destination for traders to learn and share analysis.

Since StockTock began, the site’s goal was to become an online resource for traders to share ideas and leverage the community for knowledge. While there is always room for improvement, I believe StockTock has accomplished that goal. StockTock is great not because of my personal thoughts and analysis, but because of the active participation of its visitors, whether on StockTock Social or in the comments section of the Trading Blog posts.

I will continue to actively manage the blog and post analysis periodically. Please continue sharing your ideas with me and ask questions when you have them.

Regarding the Intraday Commentary, I will continue to publish a post so that dialogue can continue. If someone would like to step up and volunteer to provide Intraday Commentary, please let me know! Remember, there is always quality discussion in the live chat room in StockTock Social.

Thank you all for your kind wishes and constructive feedback. Both Scott and I welcome suggestions for the future of StockTock and are open to growing the team with more contributors to the StockTock Trading Blog.

Sincerely,
Craig

Thanks for all of your dedication and hard work for a bunch of strangers. This site has been an invaluable resource for me in learning how to trade, and I will continue to come around to educate myself in the future. I hope that your new job is rewarding. Best of luck in whatever the future brings!

P.S. I think that things will go much better if you appoint a successor such as Mohan or Shanky to run the intraday commentary. Without a steady flow of posts from a smart leader, the site would be disorganized and lose most of it’s appeal.

Kenny is smart, but he can be an arrogant jerk. We need someone with a mature and calm temperament like Craig has. I think Mohan is best, or maybe StockJock (whatever happened to him anyways?)

    [Reply]

    kelly replied:

I would nominate Kenny, he is only a jerk when people talk crap to him. He is the best TA person that I know & I have known him for a year or so. Every one of his calls has been spot on… I think it would really improve the board.

    TheStockJock replied:

I’m still around. I make the occasional intraday comment when I have the chance. I haven’t made a lot of posts regarding the market as of late for 2 reasons. 1. I have been quite busy with some other aspects of my personal life. 2. There hasn’t been anything overly monumental that has happened or a really valuable setup that I think is worth sharing.

Craig (as a technical trader) has been covering all of the more minor things as they come either through intraday updates or the end of day videos. I will still make posts as I see fit but certainly won’t be able to fill the intraday commentary gap.

We are currently discussing some alternate format possibilities.

    Craig,
I think we can all say we appreciate the invitation to this site. From what I have read so far I would suggest a video from you every sunday if possible to start the week off. As far as the intraday commentary I think you can keep that for what it is, which is everybodys daily thoughts. Just let everyone participate and hopefully some leaders like mohan, shanky, and kenny will keep the board fresh with ideas. And the rest of us will try to keep the board as informational and educational as possible. Good luck with the venture and I am sure we will hear from you again.

Thanks for the start of this board. I have basically replaced the yahoo finance page to the stocktock homepage and I keep it open on my screen all day long!!!

    [Reply]

    Craig replied:

Stocktalk, thank you for all your contributions. I will try to post a video on a weekly basis but can’t make any promises. But don’t worry. I will be posting periodically. Don’t change your homepage!

  16. kathrine commented:

Good luck to you, Craig. I have been learning so much from this site and really enjoyed your daily videos. I agree that it would be nice if you could appoint a particular person (or perhaps two people) to do the intraday commentary. It would also be a plus if the end of day videos could continue.

    [Reply]

    Craig replied:

Thank you, Kathrine. We are working to find somebody to continue the intraday commentary. It is not a highly demanded job because it doesn’t pay anything. And most people find it difficult to trade and post commentary at the same time. I found it challenging at times but very do-able.

  17. MktMike commented:

Lets try to keep Stocktock social alive. Good contributions occur there daily and I do not want to lose that. I hope everyone sticks with this site even if Craig isn’t going to be here as much. I feel as if several people should be given permission to the main site for intraday commentary. They should only post non biased market analysis and only update on major setups like Craig did. Perhaps if there were several willing to post then it would take much of the work load off of a single person and it would remove any bias one person would carry. Keep it simple and neat, 0 posts obviously isn’t good but neither is 100.

    Hey Craig,

Congrats on your new journey in career and thanks for helping us by sharing the knowledge. The things you shared with us as a trader was priceless specially now a days when nobody wants to share how to trade. Hope some day we will see you up in the sky as a star with all the great traders.

We will miss you and your valuable guidance. And now this is the time to step up to work as a team who ever left here to make this forum as a knowledge based educational/trading blog.

You are actually one of the greatest inspirations for StockTock. Back in the day, before the fancy website, there were just daily YouTube videos. Your feedback and encouragement inspired me to keep posting and improving the quality of my analysis.

    HI guys,

Thanks for the confidence expressed in me by some. I will be posting here regularly as long as I also see some benefit. However, I cannot take leadership role for many reasons. a) Time; b) I suck at regular TA; c) I don’t believe in EW theory; and most importantly, d) I am not disciplined.

May the wind always be at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and when plotting your Elliot Waves,
may they always fall surely in place”

Best of luck with your new venture, Craig. The professionalism, discipline and patient character with which you have created and guided this site, are the same attributes that will serve you well regardless of your chosen challenge.

Being a fundamentalist and news orientated, I did find it surprising that 10 minutes after your announcement of “a new venture” that the Boston Red Sox website issued a press release touting the signing of an “impact player” to the roster as a catcher. There was little information in the release other than this key sentence: ” Red Sox officials are mum on the identity of the new catcher, other than to say that he is a devotee of Elliot Wave Theory, which will assist in the predicting the trajectory of Tim Wakefield’s knuckleball which will result in fewer passed balls.”

    [Reply]

    Craig replied:

    Brian,
You certainly have a way with words. And wit!
I laughed out loud on both Elliot Wave lines. Hilarious!

Did the Sox really sign a catcher today?

It’s not April 1st is it? Craig, we all hate to see you go. I understand that opportunities present themselves and you must take them. Go get ‘em tiger. You have done a sensational job. You have tought us all many valuable lessons. You have brought a community together. Sadly, the community may not be able to exist without you the TA leader. It may be possible for you to make some posts in the AM, then some commentary at lunch and then at night, but if it is not paying the bills, then you must move on.

I am very interseted in keeping in touch with some of the members. Checking in or staying here or at social may be the way. We have formed a team. The team aspect has helped us all be better traders. We all played a part. We each found our niche. Some bulls, some bears, some currency, some equity; it functioned like (actually better than) most trading rooms at the big brokerages. We are honest and truthful. We see thru the talking heads. We combined the collective thoughts of many to profit. It is my opinion that while we may miss Craig, he may find that we were just as valuable a resource to him as he was to us.

I appreciate the nomination to lead, but I am a TA novice. I will continue to post as i normally do. I’m guessing wiht the loss of Craig and Danerik, I’ll be pulling my EW from Kenny’s stuff on stockcharts. I’ll probably be the last to leave and turn off the lights. If someone else does some recon and finds another blog that has merrit, let us know.

Best wishes Craig. You will do well with your new gig. I appreciate you making me a better trader.

I’m not going out on a limb to say that you are StockTock’s most enthusiastic and vocal supporter. Thank you for being such an integral part of the community and please keep it going. While I’ll let Craig respond to the direct feedback from each of you, I want everyone to know that we’re capturing each of the ideas and suggestions mentioned. StockTock is a community site. Craig has been our TA leader, but we knew the site couldn’t revolve around him long-term.

We would love for the intraday commentary to continue, and there have been some great (and expected) recommendations of people to take over the daily post. Therefore, I would ask if anything is interested in stepping up to lead the intraday commentary to please email me. Don’t stop with the nominations though.

….sorry to be a sore sport here but I think its lame to start a venture with passion and just as its reached a potentially successful point with a community type of atmosphere to jump ship to a totally new venture just because some big wig came along to dangle a large sum of money in your face. Thats actually the problem with Wall Street. It starts with talented dreamers who become corrupted by the temptation of “success”, what about Wall Street and corporate trading is successful? end of rant……….good luck nevertheless.

    Craig replied:

Martin, I feel kind of lame, especially after reading all these generous comments. This is not a decision I made lightly.

But trust me that there are no big wigs dangling a carrot in my face. I wish I could disclose more information on my new endeavor, but I cannot for now. I hope to soon!
