Craig has graciously invited me to be a Trading Blog contributor on StockTock.  I am happy to do my bit to keep the dialog going and to help each of us make more money.

I am a retired Engineer living in Minnesota, and have always enjoyed investing.  I’ve tried all the traditional schemes of  B&H and DCA, but day trading and swing trading based on charts seems to be the most effective for me.  I like to be in control, and to make my own decisions and make my own mistakes.  I am always learning and it has been great being part of StockTock in both the Trading Blog and in Social.  We have some some great people here and I do find it more enjoyable and profitable to be trading with others.

My handle was “Schweizer135″ because I am a Glider Pilot (and instructor) and I fly an American built Schweizer 1-35 sailplane.  I have since shortened my username to just “Schweizer,” – my real name is Tom.

If I end up starting up the Daily trading blog at times, I likely won’t do a lot of commenting like Idan and Craig do, other than in the thread itself intraday.  It can get busy as you know watching all the charts and screens, so that will be my top priority.

Good luck trading.

Welcome to one who has already been great to work with, especially in developing some nice indicators, such as the rainbow of EMAs of $BPSPX:$CPC. That makes at least three of us with engineering degrees, Mohan being another, dunno about Craig and Idan.

    NERDS RULE!

Now, if S135 and I could only figure out how to stay warm as well as we engineer new indicators. Do you people from balmier climes realize that the Mississippi River can actually freeze over solid enough for Tom to snowmobile down here, except for a few navigation dams?

    brrrrrrrrr

Crawford (since we’re using real names – it does seem more personal)

    Mohan replied:

Yes, Nerds rule(d). They developed a bunch of indicators which could work in 99.9% of the case. They called that 0.1% as a Black Swan event. The black swan did show-up. Here is something I wrote about the quants who screwed the world, (full disclosure, I wanted to be one of them a dozen year ago. :-) )

Are we talking indicators or alchemy? LOL. It is nice to see the evolution of this trading blog. As the saying goes (modified), “Let the cream rise to the top”. A word of caution. “To many fingers will ruin the pudding”. At any rate, welcome aboard Schweizer. (Craig, you must be telepathic)

You contribution to the blogs are great and educating. Went to U in MN, lived and survived the winters and now I am a spoiled californian.
