First, let’s look at a comparison chart of the EUR/USD versus the S&P. As you can see, there is a strong correlation. This means that as the euro weakens against the US dollar, the S&P weakens.

It was impressive that on Friday markets shrugged off extremely dire news on employment and “I am on death-bed” notice from GM. Of course, in the previous two days markets got sold off more than 10%. I see Friday as possible short-covering.
